Intergeneric relationships within the tribe Alsineae (Caryophyllaceae) as inferred from <scp>nrDNA ITS</scp> and <scp>cpDNA</scp> <i>rps16</i> sequences: A step toward a phylogenetically based generic system

چکیده

The tribe Alsineae is a large monophyletic group in the family Caryophyllaceae especially found across Eurasia and Americas, but with center of diversity Mediterranean region. Several previous molecular phylogenetic studies have focused on delimitation genera tribes Caryophyllaceae, subfamily Alsinoideae or broader sense than now recognized. However, there are still many open questions regarding subdivision genus delimitation. In present study, we sampled 191 (148 species) 149 (125 accessions representing almost all (Adenonema Pseudocerastium were not available to us) recognized for nuclear DNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) plastid marker rps16 sequences, respectively. A combined matrix 103 species was built taxa both sequences available. Maximum parsimony Bayesian inference analyses retrieved Cerastium Stellaria (including Myosoton) as largest genera, while other medium-sized (10–20 spp.) small (<10 spp.). Our expanded sampling Pseudostellaria its relatives suggests circumscription this genus. Major divergence morphology, particularly seeds, observed “Protostellaria”-clade, allows recognition some taxonomic changes. total 16 including Cerastium, Dichodon, Hartmaniella, Holosteum, Lepyrodiclis, Mesostemma, Moenchia, Nubelaria, Odontostemma, Pseudostellaria, Rabelera, Schizotechium, Shivparvatia, Stellaria, along Adenonema that could be analyzed are, therefore, kept distinct genera. diagnostic key these well notes their relationships, distribution, nomenclature, provided.

Phylogenetic relationships within the tribe Malveae (Malvaceae, subfamily Malvoideae) as inferred from ITS sequence data.

Phylogenetic relationships among genera of tribe Malveae (Malvaceae, subfamily Malvoideae) were reconstructed using sequences of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of the 18S-26S nuclear ribosomal repeat. Newly generated sequences were combined with those available from previous generic level studies to assess the current circumscription of the tribe, monophyly of some of the larger g...

Monophyly and relationships of the tribe Exaceae (Gentianaceae) inferred from nuclear ribosomal and chloroplast DNA sequences.

Both chloroplast trnL (UAA) intron and nuclear ribosomal ITS sequences highly confirmed the monophyly of the tribes of the Gentianaceae defined by the recent classification, and revealed the tribe Exaceae as a basal clade just next to the basal-most lineage, the tribe Saccifolieae. Within the tribe Exaceae, Sebaea (except Sebaea madagascariensis) appeared as the most basal clade as the sister g...

Phylogenetic Relationships of the Monotypic Genus Amphianthus (Plantaginaceae Tribe Gratioleae) Inferred from Chloroplast DNA Sequences

Within the past decade, Scrophulariaceae sensu lato has been shown to be polyphyletic and, as a result, is currently undergoing major systematic revision. The traditionally recognized family is now generally considered to comprise several smaller families including the newly expanded Plantaginaceae, a family of 12 tribes, 92 genera, and approximately 2000 species. Recent evidence from molecular...

Reticulate phylogenetics and phytogeographical structure of Heliosperma (Sileneae, Caryophyllaceae) inferred from chloroplast and nuclear DNA sequences.

The Balkan Peninsula is known to be one of the most diverse and species-rich parts of Europe, but its biota has gained much less attention in phylogenetic and evolutionary studies compared to other southern European mountain systems. We used nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences and intron sequences of the chloroplast gene rps16 to examine phylogenetic and biogeographica...

the effectiveness of strategy-based instruction in teaching english as a second or foreign language: a meta-analysis of experimental studies

a large number of single research studies on the effects of strategy-based instruction (sbi) in teaching english as a foreign or second language has been conducted so far. however, the lack of a comprehensive meta-analysis targeting the effectiveness of english language sbi is observed. moreover, the findings of experimental studies regarding the context of the english language, proficiency lev...
